Spring 2006 Review

Love’s Garden
by Ellen Robena Field

There is a quiet garden, from the rude world set apart,
Where seeds for Christ are growing; this is the loving heart.
The tiny roots are loving thoughts; sweet words, the fragrant flowers
Which blossom into loving deeds, ripe fruits for harvest hours.
Thus in our hearts the seeds of love are growing year by year;
And we show our love for the Savior, by loving His children here.

Happy Spring! Our class is enjoying the beautiful weather during our outdoor playtime. The new playground and swing set is providing our “Little Blessings” with hours of “gross motor skill activity” (better known as physical exercise or just plain FUN!)
We, again, thank the entire LCR membership for making the decision to improve the wonderful outdoor play space behind the church.

We have been busy learning about our Jesus and all that He has done for us. At our Easter party, the children colored eggs and made colorful Spring crosses with pastel paints. We sang songs, danced the bunny hop, and ate delicious treats. Easter’s celebration was especially memorable as parents and children listened to the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection and were led in prayer by Pastor Jack.

In these last weeks before school ends, we have freed our beautiful preschool-raised butterflies to the fresh outdoors, held a Mother’s Day Tea for all LBCC mothers, and visited Westmoreland Sanctuary for a nature hike (see images below). We are now preparing for our end-of-year graduation and celebration. It's hard to believe that our 2005/2006 school year is coming to an end!

LBCC is about to complete its fourth school year and we are thankful that the feedback from local educators, parents and the community in general has been quite favorable. We would like to ask you all to continue to pray for this ministry as well as help us spread the news about our wonderful preschool. We ask the Lord to continue to guide us as we touch the hearts of His children.

Our Field Trip to Westmoreland Sanctuary, May 26, 2006

Wow! We experienced so much at Westmoreland Sanctuary in Mount Kisco. Santuary Director Steve Ricker (left) lead us in a discussion about wild birds and even let us pet some! We took a nature walk and peeked into the nests of some five-day old baby birds. What a great day! Thanks Steve!
