Dear friends,
This week I received notice that our sister in Christ, Mary Johnson, passed away comfortably in New Hampshire at the age of 93. Mary was a wonderful Christian woman, a generous steward, a daily reader of Scripture, and one who always had a story about LCR. She first came to the congregation on its first anniversary in 1937. Mary was an obstetrics nurse at Northern Westchester Hospital and helped deliver over 10,000 babies in her career. Mary was very active at LCR until about seven years ago when she entered into assisting living care. She always looked forward to my monthly visits with Holy Communion. Sometimes she questioned why the Lord did not take her, but I was comforted greatly knowing that Mary was praying for our ministry. At the end of June she moved to New Hampshire to be closer to her daughter. Two weeks ago Mary was diagnosed with lung cancer. She died quietly in her sleep surrounded by her family.

+Rest eternal grant her O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon her.+
