myGoodDeed.org's 9/11 project
Each year, myGoodDeed.org asks organizations thoughout the U.S. to honor those lost in the 9/11 tragedy by making a pledge to perform a good deed on or around September 11.
In 2007, we participated in this program by providing healthy snack bags to Mount Kisco's Neighbor's Link organization for low-income Latinos who visited the facility on 9/10 to register for ESL classes (estimated up to 75 adults--many of whom are young parents.)
During their ESL classes, Neighbor's Link worked to stress the importance of good nutrition to their students. Therefore, the gift of a bag of fruit and other healthy snack items was a welcome treat for their registration process.
Thanks again to all for their assistance in this good deed!
Do you have a good idea for our 2008 9/11 service project?
If so, please email Paroo Streich or Linda Horner.
