A Letter from Rev. Chuck Robertson
We would like to share with you a letter we received from Rev. Chuck Robertson who, representing Food for the Poor, visited us on May 21, 2006 to deliver our message "Acts - Radical Gift" and speak with us about his organization, Food for the Poor. Robertson is an ordained ELCA Pastor, US Navy 1951-54, and a graduate of George Washington University and the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He has organized three mission churches in Virginia and Maryland Synods, served as a missionary in Peru, So. America, and was Pastor of St. Peters and St. Marks Lutheran Churches in Miami, FL. Rev. Robertson and wife Leah live near Daytona Beach, FL and have 6 grown children.
We are very happy to announce that during Rev. Robertson's visit, LCR and its congregants and friends gave a total of $4,900 in support of The Food for the Poor ministry. We encourage you to continue your support with a tax deductable donation to this worthwhile organization. Please visit them at Food for the Poor.org.

Dear Pastor Jack:
It was a pleasure and an honor to visit with you recently at The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection and tell you about Food For The Poor.Thank you so much for welcoming me. You sure made me feel like family! It is wonderful that your congregation donated $4,900 (plus any mail-ins that people may send) on May 21 when the I was there to present this Ministry. Kindly share this information with your congregation.
Please know that your gift will make an important difference in the lives of our poorest brothers and sisters throughout the Caribbean,
Mexico
, Central and
South America
, as well as victims of Hurricane Katrina & Rita.
At Food For The Poor, we believe in fully living the Gospel of Matthew 25:40 -- "As often as you did it to one of the least of my brothers and sisters, you did it to me." Our Ministry has a spiritual motivation and business expertise that make it so different from most others. We literally follow your donations to their destination, making sure that the resources are used wisely. These goods include food, clothing, medical and educational materials, equipment and farm tools.
I pray that you will remain an active part of Food For The Poor family. You have heard the cry of the poor -- your generous donation is proof of this.
God Bless you,
(Rev) Chuck Robertson
P.S.--Many thanks to you, your wife and children, Paroo, Ann Marie, Bill & Kerry, and all who made my stay at Resurrection so enjoyable.
