Acolytes

The LCR Acolytes ministry relies on weekly youth volunteerism. Acolytes assist the Pastor during services by lighting candles and helping with communion and the collection of funds. Usually, only one acolyte is required per service, although several may be asked to serve on a special service day. Acolytes may be asked to serve up to one time per month, but less frequently when more youth are participating. As a requirement for Confirmation class, youth are asked to either serve as acolytes, on Tech Crew, or to assist with Sunday School, or a combination of those ministries.

Acolyte training events take place throughout the year and often current acolytes are asked to help train new ones. A new acolyte serves as the "follower" of an experienced acolyte at least three times before they serve on their own.

Below is the current acolytes volunteer schedule. If you are scheduled and cannot serve, please contact the LCR church office ASAP. It is an acolyte's responsibility to find an appropriate replacement volunteer if they cannot serve. The church office will assist in finding a replacement if help is needed.
