Shannon McCabe was born in raised in Hastings, MN. She attended Wartburg College in Waverly, IA and obtained a degree in Religion, concentrating in Youth Ministry. During her years at Wartburg, she interned at two churches doing youth ministry during the summers. She also volunteered at a church in Waverly, doing youth ministry with several other friends from school. She later taught Sunday school at a different church to a multi-age classroom. While in college, she was the president of Manna, a hunger-advocate group. She worked for an organization called the Volunteer Action Center , which coordinated service events both on and off-campus. She was also highly involved with Campus Ministry, giving a senior chapel in September of 2008. After living at home for four months, searching for a job; she left her parents, three brothers and dog in Minnesota ...moving to Pound Ridge , NY in April to be a full-time, live-in nanny for three children. Her first Sunday at LCR happened to be the annual meeting, where she discovered they were in need of a Youth Director. She offered to volunteer, they offered her a job. She is enjoying getting to know the youth and persuing her passion for ministry. In addition to youth ministry, Shannon enjoys baking, paint-by-numbers and canoeing.
