FAQ

What’s a Lutheran?

A Lutheran who is someone who prescribes (or would like to) to the teachings of Martin Luther: We are saved not by anything we can or have done but completely by the grace of God.

What is worship like at your church?

Our worship is “traditional” Lutheran worship. It typically includes liturgy, prayers, hymns, Bible readings, a sermon, and Holy Communion. We sing traditional hymns, some written in the 1600s, as well as incorporating more contemporary and international songs. We take the act of worship seriously but in a relaxed and joy-filled way.

What if I am not Lutheran, am searching, or do not know what I believe?

We have many people who worship here who do not come from a Lutheran background. We are a welcoming community where there is space for doubt and questions. We all have questions! We seek to be a safe and supportive place to explore your faith (or what you feel as lack of faith) more deeply.

Are children welcome in your church?

Children of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend our worship services! We involve them in worship in many different ways. There is also a special Sunday School hour for children between the two morning services during the school year.

Where are you located?

We are at the corner of routes 117 and 172, directly across from the Northern Westchester Hospital.
